RIEBO’s Aerial Photogrammetry Systems Support China’s Polar Research

Riebo has participated in 37, 38 and 39 Antarctic Research in succession, providing comprehensive equipment and technical solutions for aerial photography. These efforts have yielded extensive mapping and geographic information results, offering vital support for China’s polar research and multidisciplinary scientific studies in Antarctica.

The shipboard helicopters aboard Xuelong and Xuelong 2 were equipped with RIEBO’s independently developed full-frame and medium-format aerial photogrammetry systems, including the R6, M6, and M10. These systems facilitated aerial photography and surveying tasks across the Antarctic, delivering high-quality data essential for scientific exploration.

For the first time, surveyors utilized a domestic helicopter-based aerial photogrammetry system platform, developed by Chengdu RIEBO Technology Co., Ltd., to capture high-resolution imagery of Zhongshan Station and key research areas in East Antarctica. This achievement marks a significant milestone, laying a strong technical foundation for providing timely and critical data to support Antarctic scientific research.
